Jumbucks has been a favourite with locals and travellers alike, known for hearty, affordable meals and a welcoming atmosphere.
We made the difficult decision to pause restaurant service due to a combination of personal health challenges, changing guest dining preferences, and broader economic pressures.
We continue to monitor interest in reopening, as Jumbucks remains an important part of the Burra Motor Inn experience and future.

 Verified  An excellent burger I was staying at the Burra Motor Inn so ordered a takeaway cheeseburger from Jumbucks restaurant. It was kindly delivered to my room. The burger was excellent as were the accompanying freshly cooked chips and salad.

 Verified  Pleasant visit, will come again Room a bit dated, and contactless entry but the emailed directions and assistance from the staff were excellent. The Jumbucks Restaurant was much better than expectations with excellent service and attention, quality food and wines (regrettably no cocktails), lovely ambiance with candles and diverse decorations. We hope to come again.

   An eclectic and quirky restaurant.  Fabulous food - we had the ‘roo and the ‘Barra and a chocolate pudding that should not have been legal :).  A quiet and intimate atmosphere.  Music was the perfect level.  First class service from Tristan - many thanks for a wonderful evening.

   The Jumbucks restaurant is warm and inviting, and is full of nostalgia from the railways and famous TV shows and movies. The food is delicious and filling, and the staff are highly professional. I highly recommend the Crumbed Camembert as an entree and the Lamb Backstrap for the main. Highly recommended. Make sure you book ahead.

 Verified  Wonderful ☺ Room was comfortable & quiet. Surrounds were nice being along the Burra Creek. Residences set off away from the road although there was minimal traffic through town at night. The Restaurant meals were delicious. They offered Breakfast packs to order which were good for the mornings as I had early starts on a job nearby.

   We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. Our waiter Joanus made us feel welcome and provided excellent service. The Chef Rob was excellent, he discussed the menu with us and the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. There is railway memorabilia in the restaurant and a must visit for a railway enthusiast. The adjoining Burra Motor Inn is excellent to stay at. We enjoyed our time in Burra and recommend this restaurant and accommodation.

   I had reason to be in Burra for business recently. Jumbucks was recommended to me as a great place to have dinner with a client. I now know why they were recommended. The food was lovely with all the meals we ordered delivering in spades. (Kangaroo, Barramundi & Lamb back strap) Staffing was attentive and considered. I can now recommend as others did for me. Make sure you book - capacity is comparative to the size of the town. Great work guys - I will be back

 recommends  Another beautiful meal at jumbucks last night - this time we took our whole tribe out for dinner (brave feat with 5 kids under 10!) and had the most lovely night out - the kids loved the fish and chips, and mum and dad loved the garlic prawns and lamb blackstrap. Delicious Deserts polished off to the last crumb. The staff were great - attentive and welcoming. Our boys loved the collectables on display. We feel so lucky to have such a lovely little restaurant here in Burra. Thanks to the crew at Burra motor inn & jumbucks restaurant for a great family night out.

 Verified  Oh wow!! The meals we had were up there with the best ever.  The rump steak was huge and cooked perfectly. The lamb back strap was to die for! The atmosphere is quirky and gives you heaps to look at and talk about. We are just disappointed that we couldn't fit dessert in.

 Verified  A trip back in time If you are interested in the history of mining and Railways in SA, Jumbucks Restaurant in Burra is a delight.There is an incredible amount of history on display and once you have ordered your meal you can wander around the restaurant and take in all of the displays.The menu offered a wide range of options with Kangaroo being a treat.  The host was gracious and his barista made coffee was an unexpected treat.Well worth a visit, even if you are not staying at the Burra Motor Inn.

A good menu and the marinated kangaroo I chose was excellent, medium rare, marinated and cooked to perfection. The wine list featured excellent local wines, with some good by the glass. Friendly service.Definitely worth a meal here if you are in Burra - a fascinating heritage town.

 Verified  On the way to Adelaide Burra is a great place to stay on the way from Broken Hill to Adelaide. Interesting shops, good restaurants/cafes and historical locations to visit.
