Welcome to our Booking and Cancellation Policy page. Here, you’ll find important information about our rates, booking terms, and our cancellation policy to help you plan your stay with confidence at Burra Motor Inn.

Our Rates & Booking Policy

When you book directly with us, either by phone or online, we aim to offer the best possible rates. To do this, our tariffs are generally based on two key factors:

  • the number of guests staying, and
  • the number of beds used.

Where the number of guests is underestimated or not declared at the time of booking, accommodation cannot be guaranteed and additional charges may apply.

Please read room descriptions carefully when making your selection. Room rates will vary depending on the number of guests and beds used. In many cases, the rate is based on the first two guests sharing a King or Queen bed. Conditions, including any extra bed surcharges or cancellation terms, are shown with each rate plan when booking.  When selecting a rate plan, click ‘More info’ for details.

Our website rates are typically the same as those offered over the phone. Occasionally, we run exclusive online deals for stays of two nights or more, available only through our website.

Corporate bookings or extended stays of four consecutive nights or more can now be booked directly online at our corporate rate.

Confirmation of bookings made online or by phone generally require payment at the time of booking, unless otherwise specified in the rate conditions. If payment is declined or incomplete, the booking may be cancelled without notice, except for where alternative payment arrangements have been negotiated in advance.

Check-in is from 2pm, check-out by 10am. If you require an early check-in or late check-out, please discuss arrangements beforehand so that we can make the necessary staffing arrangements (an additional fee of $35 per hour applies).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests or booking modifications must be advised by telephone and confirmed in writing (email, fax, or post). Alternatively, you may also cancel by using the cancellation link provided at the bottom of your booking confirmation.

When you confirm a reservation with us, we hold the room in good faith and will likely decline other bookings for those dates. These policies exist to protect against the loss incurred by late changes or no-shows.

General Direct Rates (Direct / Standard / Stop-Over Saver)

  • Free cancellation is available up to one full calendar day before the day of check-in.
  • For cancellations less than one full calendar day before the day of check-in, or no-shows, a penalty equal to the first night per room applies.
  • For multiple rooms, one full calendar day of notice per room is required (e.g. 5 rooms = 5 days’ notice) to avoid first-night charges.

Corporate Rate

  • Free cancellation if made at least five days before the day of arrival.
  • Within five days: a cancellation penalty equivalent to 50% of the full stay applies.
  • No-shows: charged in full.

Advance Saver Rate

  • Free cancellation if made at least seven days before the day of arrival.
  • Within seven days: a cancellation penalty equivalent to the full stay applies.
  • No-shows: charged in full.

Event Rates
Some special event rates carry stricter cancellation terms. Please refer to the specific event rate at the time of booking.

OTA & Third-Party Bookings
Cancellations for bookings made through OTAs or external agents (e.g. Booking.com, The Hotel Network, Golden Chain etc) are subject to varying terms and conditions. Please check at the time of booking or refer to your booking confirmation.

Refunds
Refunds (where applicable) will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Flexibility Across All Rates

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur. While these policies normally apply, if we are able to resell the room(s) we may waive or reduce cancellation charges at management’s discretion. For this reason, we recommend all guests consider travel insurance to cover unexpected events.

Burra Motor Inn is not liable for cancellations, delays, or failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or public health emergencies.

Booking Terms & Conditions

  • the customer must be at least 18 years of age to book accommodation at the Burra Motor Inn.
  • the person named on the booking confirmation is personally liable for the payment of the account and if the person, company or association indicated as being responsible for payment of same does not do so, liability for such payment shall be joint and several with such person, company or association.
  • the person named on the booking confirmation remains liable for any damages to the room, its contents, or the motel’s facilities caused by themselves or their guests.
  • pets are not allowed except by Government Authority – if pets are found in rooms without prior permission a cleaning fee equivalent to up to an additional night may be charged.
  • all rooms are non-smoking – breach of this condition may result in a cleaning fee equivalent to up to an additional night being charged.
  • other than use of a kettle, toaster or microwave oven in accordance to design, cooking is not permitted in the rooms – breach of this condition may result in a cleaning fee equivalent to up to an additional night being charged.
  • Burra Motor Inn has a strict no party or excessive noise policy –failure to respect the comfort of other guests staying in the motel may result in immediate eviction.
  • guests who breach any of the above terms, including but not limited to disruptive behaviour, unauthorised pets, or smoking in rooms, may be evicted without refund.
  • video surveillance is in operation 24/7 in public areas for guest safety and property security.
  • by completing a booking, you authorise Burra Motor Inn to charge your credit card for any amounts incurred or identified during or after your stay. Where such charges are applied after check-out, an updated tax invoice will be issued and forwarded to the contact details provided at the time of booking.
